Portable seeks spiritual coverage, dumps traditional worship for church prayers

After posting a video of himself praying while camped out in a church, controversial artist Habeeb Okikiola, better known by his stage name Portable, astounded his followers.

Conversations concerning his apparent spiritual transformation were sparked by the video, which was posted on his Instagram profile and showed him lying down in a church with the phrase, “Zazu rush to God.”

Portable’s life has been full of drama ever since he became well-known. The musician has seldom avoided making headlines, from arguments with his baby mamas to violent altercations that have occasionally resulted in arrests and internet teasing.

His recent conversion to Christian prayers is even more unexpected given his well-known and usually proud public practice of traditional worship.

This follows an online argument he had with Ashabi Simple, his fourth baby mama, for not being obedient to him.

Social media has been used by both supporters and detractors to voice their concerns over his abrupt break from his customary worship.

Intriguing his spiritual metamorphosis, the caption, “Zazu run to God,” has also raised questions about who or what he is referring to.
