Late Ochanya Ogbanje’s sister speaks on family’s demand for justice 7 years after demise of their sister
In the midst of fresh calls for justice for her sister, the late Ochanya Ogbanje’s older sister has spoken out.
Ms. Ogbanje lamented that her family’s attempts to pursue justice had been consistently thwarted in an interview with TVC.
She disclosed that Ochanya’s caregiver, her aunt Felicia Ochiga-Ogbuja, still resides with her husband, Mr. Andrew Ogbuja, who was charged with regularly abusing Ochanya and his son, Victor Ogbuja.
In spite of the accusations, she added, Andrew is still employed as a lecturer at Benue State Polytechnic. She claims that although Victor’s location are known, he is still at large, but Andrew has been found not guilty.
Ms Ogbanje calls for Victor’s arrest
Ms. Ogbanje lamented that Victor has never been arrested or questioned, describing her surprise at seeing his pictures circulating online while police still claim they cannot find him.
Ochanya incident that happened late
Remember how Ochanya, then 13 years old, passed away in 2018 due to complications stemming from long-term sexual abuse? She had lived with her aunt since she was five years old, and it is said that both Andrew and Victor began abusing her when she was eight years old.
Felicia received a five-month prison sentence for maltreatment, Victor has been on the run since the incident, and Andrew was released and found not guilty due to insufficient evidence.
