Fans and colleagues in the industry are paying their respects to Hollywood actress Samantha Eggar, who passed away at the age of 86.

The Oscar-nominated actress died in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, according to a TMZ story.

‎TMZ reports Samantha Eggar passed away after a prolonged illness, which remains unknown.

‎She is survived by her daughter, Jenna Stern, who is also an actress, and her son, Nicolas Stern, a film producer known for works including Friends With Benefits, Creed, and Snowfall.

‎Notably, Samantha Eggar rose to prominence in the 1960s, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her role in The Collector (1965), alongside Terence Stamp.

Samantha Eggar’s Biography

‎Born on March 5, 1939, in Hampstead, London, she won several awards including the Best Actress Award at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival and a Golden Globe for Most Promising Newcomer for The Collector (1965).

She tied the knot in 1964 with actor Tom Stern, and their union produced two children,  Nicolas Stern and Jenna Stern.

However, they divorced in 1971 after seven years of marriage over differences in personal and professional aspirations.

Despite their split, Eggar and Stern remained committed to co-parenting, prioritizing their children’s well-being.

Eggar was born on March 5, 1939, while Jenna was born on September 23, 1967.
