Drama as Godfrey Okoye VC attacks a women’s hostel during Davido’s Enugu performance

Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, the vice chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, has provoked outrage after barging into the women’s dorm to take attendance and make sure no students had snuck away to Davido’s concert in Enugu.

According to reports, the surprise visit happened yesterday, the same evening that thousands of fans from all across the state came to see Davido’s concert light up Enugu.

Rev. Anieke was seen strolling through the women’s hostel, taking attendance to verify each student’s present, in the viral video posted on X by @AsakyGRN.

The purpose of the VC’s spontaneous visit was to enforce the school’s stringent policy prohibiting going to off-campus social activities without authorization.

While some students could be heard screaming Davido’s name, many were left in disbelief since they never imagined the head of the university would personally attend a nightly roll call.

One commenter on the internet said, “Father Anieke does not play! Imagine missing Davido’s performance due to roll call alone. “This one passes surveillance o. VC taking attendance himself?” another person wrote. Just in Naija!

While some found the VC’s move humorous, others complimented his adherence to discipline and concern for students’ safety.

There is no doubt that Godfrey Okoye pupils would reconsider their plan to slip away the next time Davido performs in Enugu.
