Lagos govt demolishes over 19 buildings at Trade fair Plaza
The state government started removing illegal development, structures without statutory approvals, defective structures, and structures built on road setbacks and drainages today, September 25, resulting in the demolition of at least 19 buildings at the New Mandela Plaza, located within the well-known Trade Fair Complex in Lagos.
Officials from the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA), Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA), Lagos State Urban Development, Ministry of Physical Planning, Office of Infrastructure, and the Honorable Members of the Lagos House of Assembly stormed the area with armed security to complete the demolition.
In response to the demolition, a distressed trader stated that the exercise had an impact on no fewer than 19 buildings, each worth more than N150 million.
“The government should just state clearly if it does not want businesses or development here. This is where people have put their life savings. There are more than 19 buildings in that square,” a trader remarked furiously.
A dramatic scene unfolded at a wedding after a groom slapped a lady who packed money that was sprayed on him while dancing.
The incident occured in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and was captured in a now‑viral TikTok video posted by @Blessing Lawrence.
Meanwhile, the identity of the lady who was slapped at the wedding remains unknown.

The clip, which has garnered over 14,000 likes, shows the groom chasing the lady, slapping her, and collecting Naira notes from her.
After the incident, the groom is seen with his bride dancing to a hit song by Rema.
The newlyweds donned matching outfits, their excitement palpable as they danced.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media, revealing the next spot bandits hit after the church attack in Eruku, Kwara State.
It would be recalled that tragedy struck on November 18, 2025 after gunmen stormed the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku.
A .survivor told TVC that the attackers opened fire just minutes into the evening service, killing three people and abducting about 38 congregants, who have been released.

This was announced by President Bola Tinubu announced in a recent post on X (formerly Twitter).
He expressed gratitude to the security forces for their hands‑on effort.
The announcement came after Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, credited Tinubu’s personal intervention for the release of the abducted congregants.
