Drama as man receives four colleagues’ salaries by mistake says he’ll deduct his bank charges before returning money
After getting the salary of four of his coworkers in addition to his own for four months in a row, a young Nigerian guy posted an odd tale on social media.
The young man, who went by the handle @michaels_techie, shared his story on X, formerly known as Twitter, and it immediately garnered a lot of online attention.
Honesty in Practice
His account claims that the corporation inadvertently deposited four other employees’ salaries into his bank account in addition to his own. Over the course of four months, the error reportedly occurred multiple times.
In his own words: “My office deposited my salary and the salaries of four other people to my account by mistake.” I returned it. Before I informed them that I would begin charging them for bank costs when I returned to them, this continued for four months in a row. I want to give your money back, so I will still spend. I threatened to charge them if they persisted. I had to go to the bank to raise my transaction limit after my first error because it was far higher than what I could send back. I was broke. Well, I will not take anything that is not mine.
Despite his financial difficulties, he repaid the money each month because he valued honesty and integrity.

After multiple occurrences, the man informed his employer that he would begin deducting bank charges from the amount he returned, citing the expenses incurred in transferring large sums back to the company.
He explained that while he wanted to do the right thing, paying the bank fees repeatedly became a personal burden for him.
The story sparked widespread reactions online, with Nigerians praising his honesty and sharing mixed anecdotes about similar workplace experiences.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media, revealing the next spot bandits hit after the church attack in Eruku, Kwara State.
It would be recalled that tragedy struck on November 18, 2025 after gunmen stormed the Christ Apostolic Church in Eruku.
A .survivor told TVC that the attackers opened fire just minutes into the evening service, killing three people and abducting about 38 congregants, who have been released.
